Escapee spotted at Sylva, North Carolina

A man who escaped federal custody was spotted late yesterday morning in Sylva, North Carolina.  At the time, according to the FBI, an eyewitness saw Sean Christopher Williams late yesterday morning in the Jackson Plaza shopping area in Jackson County.  At the time of his escape, Williams was being transported from Laurel County, Kentucky to Greenville, Tennessee.  He escaped October 18 while facing Tennessee charged in the rape of a child, aggravated sexual battery of a child under 13, and sexual exploitation pf a minor.  The FBI says Williams is familiar with the area and should be considered dangerous. The Sylva, North Carolina community is being asked to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings.  Williams is 5’11”, 170 lbs, brown hair, hazel eyes, and several tattoos on his arms and one of his fingers.  If you see the fugitive, call 828/631-HELP.”
