Escalating fuel prices cramp travel plans

The rising cost of fuel is no mirage.  Higher airfares, some cases much higher, are evident, and those rising prices force Americans to think hard about summer travel.  101.7WGOG NEWS is aware of a couple of accounts from persons who, having checked out the latest airfares, are being shocked at the price jumps.  Fair Play travel agent Gretchen Fuller shares your pain.  She has thought about driving in place of flying, yet the gas pump prices, along with food and lodging, counteract possible savings.  Like many employers, the airlines are having trouble keeping adequate staff and have resorted to cutting flights.  In this Sunday’s ‘Community Sound Off’, Fuller doles out the best advice she can give during these inflationary times.  That includes planning your flights on the cheapest days of the week for fares.  And, further, why the convenience of the nearby Greenville-Spartanburg Airport might be a poor choice if you want that lower fare.
