Energy company pitch to Westminster

A company named “G Energy” wants to do business with Westminster.   For now, there appears to be some interest on the part of city officials to further consider what G Energy proposes.  The company’s presentation comes at a time when Westminster is preparing for its next electric power contract.  Since the late 20th century Westminster, as a member of an Upstate municipal consortium (PMPA) receives its electric power supply in an arrangement with a Duke Energy nuclear reactor.  Leading off last night’s presentation was G Energy’s CEO Kurt Grossman, who spoke to the mayor and council in telephone hookup, the volume of which was difficult for everyone in the meeting room to hear.  Displayed on a visual screen was what appeared to be a rough sketch of what a 50-acre tract of property could look like in Westminster—acreage containing an energy plant, underground electric power lines, and farms for fish and vegetables.
