Emergency food and shelter money for Oconee County

Oconee County has been selected to receive nearly $22 thousand in federal dollars for food and shelter purposes.  The local United Way announces the monies come from “FEMA” and are awarded under the agency’s emergency food and shelter program.  A local board of directors will meet to decide how the funds are to be distributed.  Emergency food and shelter programs run by local service organizations are eligible to apply.  No applications from individuals will be accepted.  A meeting will be held April 12.  Any interested agency should call the United Way no later than 1 pm April 10.
