Electric school buses for South Carolina

State Representative Bill Sandifer draws attention to a federal award to South Carolina that’ll enable the Department of Education to replace 148 aging buses with electric school buses.  The award, of $58 million, comes from the EPA.  It is the recommendation of the Seneca Republican that Oconee public schools try to receive one or more of the buses — although having charging stations will be a requirement.  In his Fair-Town Times column, Sandifer said, “The busses are a win for South Carolinians of all ages and can result in healthier kids, cleaner air, and new S.C. jobs in the electric vehicle industry.”
