Easing a dog’s stress and boredom at the shelter

A $14,425 grant will enable the Oconee Humane Society to provide staff and volunteers tools to help ease the stress and boredom on the part of dogs that are confined to the county animal shelter near Seneca.  The grant comes from the non-profit PEDIGREE Foundation which works to help end pets’ homelessness.  Oconee canine, such as Lora, are getting a new “leash” on life. Lora is a five-year old Bully mix craves human attention, and the shelter staff and volunteers provided plenty.  But when constantly surrounded by dozens of other dogs. coupled with short attention spans, makes any training and, ultimately, an adoption a challenge.
