Early summer prediction for I-85 sewer expansion finish

A subcontractor has begun a multi-week job to bore 20′ below Lake Hartwell at Fair Play, in the project to extend sewer to the I-85 corridor.  Chris Eleazer, executive director of the Joint Regional Sewer Authority, issued a status report today which states, “Depending upon the final delivery schedules for the pumps, the project is currently scheduled to be completed in the early summer of 2024.”  Including a change order, the contract cost for laying pipe along Oconee’s stretch of the interstate highway stands at $11.8 million.
