Durham describes attack on property rights

Because he has been suspended, Matthew Durham may not occupy the District Two seat on the Oconee County Council.  But he is calling attention to an item on tomorrow’s agenda which he sees as an attack on personal property rights.  Durham tells 101.7/WGOG NEWS that first reading of an amendment that would address lighting, screening and buffering in development standards resembles controls in cities such as Greenville and Mount Pleasant and attempts to create boutique-style communities.  “This ordinance,” Durham said, “clearly restricts personal property rights and it hurts the little man.”
