DOT to be player in new Oconee subdivision plans?

As developers pursue plans for new housing on the Oconee side of Clemson, the Oconee County Council is to consider changes to the subdivision ordinance that would give the state DOT a say at the pre-development stage.  According to proposed first reading of Ordinance 2022-22, Chapter 32 of the code of ordinances would be amended by adding a provision “for pre-approval by the South Carolina Department of Transportation in relation to subdivision plans submitted for preliminary approval to Oconee County for properties with road frontage on U-S Highway 123 between the Oconee County-Pickens County border and the easternmost boundary of the city of Seneca….”  The amendment is on the agenda for county council’s 6 o’clock meeting Tuesday night.
