Does Lynne Martin’s voice resemble a prophet?

“I think I am the voice in northern Oconee much like John the Baptist being the voice in the wilderness.”  That’s how Lynne Martin starts her newest post in her Salem area newsletter, calling attention to her fear that the Oconee school trustees might vote to consolidate the Tamassee-Salem Elementary with Keowee Elementary, as part of a new, long-range building plan.  She feels she’s David facing the giant Goliath.  Martin is leading an effort to persuade the trustees to keep her area’s only remaining public school.  She’s urging Salem area residents to turn out in numbers at the October 16 board meeting for a peaceful protest.  “If you cannot attend, send a letter and email every board member listed on the school board website,” she requests.
