Discarding one judicial robe for another

Is the name Singleton becoming synonymous with Oconee County politics?  Just as the names of Hamilton and Cunningham were in years past.  Danny Singleton and members of his family gathered last night at county vote tabulating headquarters to watch his vote numbers pop up on the screen.  As if there was anything to worry about for Danny Singleton, a son of a former long-time county sheriff.   The only ballot candidate, Singleton’s unofficial total exceeded 25 and a half thousand.  There were 266 write-ins.  So, starting in January, Singleton can bid farewell to his long run as Seneca municipal judge for a move to the county’s Pine Street complex where, as county probate judge, he’ll make decisions on estate issues and marital applications, among other duties.  Those current Probate Judge office employees apparently should have no worries about their jobs.  Singleton told 101.7/WGOG NEWS he has no intention to bring anyone in to replace any of the current workers and, says, he looks forward to working with all of them.
