Developing a new source of clean energy

Green energy is taking a new step forward at Clemson University.  New research could help hasten the development of turbines fueled by hydrogen — the most abundant element of the universe.  Researchers seek to create a new type of coating that would armor turbine blades against intense heat and high-velocity steam, an environment so extreme it is not yet well understood and would vaporize many materials.  According to Clemson, the project has the potential to help reduce the world’s reliance on burning fossil fuels.
