Developer’s request approaches a sewer board decision

Brian Ramey of Westminster, the chairman of the Joint Regional Sewer Authority, acknowledges the likelihood the commission board will soon make an up or down vote on whether to accept a Texas developer’s proposal for him to help pay for the necessary line extensions to sewer two large student housing complexes in Oconee County.  Developer Brent Little’s request of county government to be reimbursed through special source credits, however was denied earlier this week when the county council voted no 5-0.  Ramey says the issue points up the need on the part of his board to meet with the county council for council’s direction on where it wants sewer expansion.  The realization being that where piped sewer goes, development often follows.
