Designating some of the money from Washington

Westminster so far has one-half of its share of $1.3 million in American Rescue Plan money, as one of 254 small South Carolina towns and cities eligible to use based on federal standards.  And last night the city fathers found two utility infrastructure projects for some of the money.  Westminster will spend nearly $80 thousand for seven sewer flow meters, required as part of a consent order with the state health and environmental office.  A second out-sourced contract amount to $356 thousand will replace a faulty, six-inch water line on Hall Street.  Leigh Baker, the utilities superintendent, considers the Hall Street line the “worst” in the city’s system.
