Defendant targeted by multi-law enforcement agenciues

A 37-year old woman was sent to prison today for a sentence amounting to 12 years, this after she pleaded guilty to distributing heroin and methamphetamine in Oconee County.  Lt. Anna Orr of the Oconee Sheriff’s Office said the amount of heroin and meth for which Sarah Francine Diehl was responsible was so great it had the potential to deliver a high to as many as 1,230 people a day.  And, referring to the number of grams of both meth and heroin, Deputy Solicitor Jason Alderman told Judge Maddox:  “The math on it is frankly staggering.”  As she stood with two attorneys, Diehl said she hoped for “a little mercy” considering she’s the mother of five children. Lt. Orr said what makes the case against Diehl stand out in Oconee is that the defendant is the continuing subject of drug crime investigations or inquiries including those of the state Law Enforcement Division and the federal department of Homeland Security.
