Crash investigator at the scene

An investigator from NTSB—National Transportation Board—arrived this morning at the North Carolina plane crash site of a small plane that crashed yesterday, according to an NTSB spokeswoman.  The pilot died in the crash. The crash scene is Orange County, North Carolina – not far from the Virginia line.   It’s a plane which originated from the Oconee Regional Airport.  The NTSB spokeswoman, Sarah Sulick, says the wreckage of the Beechcraft will be transported to Atlanta for analysis.  Withing 2-3 weeks Sulick’s office will issue a preliminary report on the crash, but a report containing the arrived at cause won’t be released until much later.
