COVID also creates a need for mental health care

Professional medical personnel recognize a corollary need for care on the part of those people who’ve experienced mental and emotional letdowns, after recuperating from a bout with COVID-19.  Dr. Karen Lommel, chair of the psychiatry department for Prisma Health, highlighted this when she spoke today about what some of us experience with our minds as the pandemic just seems to be marching on and on.  “I’m anxious all the time,” is the way Lommel describes as a common reaction.  The medical professionals see an increase in the numbers of those seeking treatment for this COVID repercussion.
