Courtroom happenings in Oconee

Unusual events this week inside the Oconee County courtroom in Walhalla.  On Wednesday, a defendant who entered the courtroom, wearing a mask, was excused after his attorney told the judge that his client had COVID-19.  Yesterday afternoon, emotions ran high as family members on both side of a criminal case traded accusatory remarks.  After Judge McIntosh ruled on pre-trial motions in the case, the judge ordered that family members of the both the accused and the victims leave the courthouse premises separately, so as to avoid any further incident.
