County budget workshop

John Elliott, chairman of the Oconee County Budget, Finance, and Administration Committee, opened today’s workshop by stating that he can already foresee two parts of the budget – insurance and salaries – are going to require a $2.3 million increase.  But, so far as solid budgets are concerned, County Administrator Amanda Brock cautioned the committee that the numbers they are seeing have yet to be balanced and there are still individual meetings to be held on some of the larger parts of the budget, for example, public safety including the sheriff’s office.
