Coroner’s cases in Pickens and Anderson

The coroner’s office in Anderson County announces the deaths of two men involved in separate accidents Friday.  A 65-year old Townville man, Frederick Arthur Patterson, lost his life Friday night when his motorcycle was involved in an accident in Anderson where S. McDuffie Street Extension turns into Winston Drive.  Early Friday night, a 67-year old Pendleton man, Wallace Terry Anthony, died in a Greenville hospital of head trauma and other injuries sustained when a tree fell a few hours earlier on Pendleton’s Olden Porter Road.  Don McCown, the deputy Anderson coroner, said a preliminary investigation showed that Anthony and his brother were using a tractor while they were clearing trees and brush when one tree fell.  Yesterday a 59-year old Sumter resident, Tracy Harvin, was pronounced dead at the Greenville Memorial Hospital of injuries sustained two nights earlier in the crash of her car in the Pickens County town of Norris, at Garrett Drive and N. Norris Drive.
