Communication wire crime, arrest made

Communication giant A-T-and-T estimates it’ll cost $18 thousand dollars to replace hundreds of feet of cable as the result of vandalisms in rural Oconee.  According to the sheriff’s office, an arrest has been made.  Ricky Edward Wood, 61-year-old West Union resident, has been charged in warrants in connection with the vandalism at Sherwood Drive and SC 28/the Highlands Highway.  Wood also faces an identical charge in the incident in which he also accused at 9800 the Long Creek Highway.  In each incident, service was disrupted to as many as 10 customers.  At the Long Creek Highway, missing is wire with a length of 480 feet.
