Combat vets to be invited into Keowee Key homes

What has become a staple event in Oconee County returns next month with an “honor their service” event.  Homeowners at Keowee Key invite combat veterans into their homes for events and recreation over four days on Lake Keowee.  The group Honoring their Service partners with the Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital, for combat vets from the Marine Special Operations Command “Raiders” and Veterans of all Armed Forces sponsored by Upstate Warrior Solutions.  Honoring their Service has teamed with other organizations to create the Peace House and with Purple Heart Homes to create the Golden Corner Chapter to remodel homes for vets with disabilities.  The general public gets a chance to salute the combat veterans as they arrive in their traditional motorcycle escort into Oconee County on 123, the Seneca-Clemson Corridor, to the Seneca Ingle’s intersection where they might a right turn toward the Keowee Key community.
