Clemson teen charged in armed robbery

A Clemson teenager remained jail on a
combined $85,000 surety bond, after his arrest over the weekend on charges of Armed Robbery
Armed with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent
Crime.
18 year old Jasean Tyrelle Waters, of West Lane, was booked into the Oconee County Detention
Center around 1:54am last Friday, November 25th after being transported from the Pickens
County Detention Center. Waters will be required to wear an electronic monitoring device, as a
condition of bond, should he be released.
The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation on the afternoon of November 12th of this year after
Deputies responded to the Utica Mill Hill, near Seneca, due to reports of shots being fired in the
area.
Deputies made contact with the victims at a location on Gammell Street. According to
information obtained during the investigation, Waters received money from one of the victims,
then pointed a firearm at him, kept the money and got into a silver Buick sedan.
Once the victims went back inside of the residence, gunfire was reportedly heard outside of the
residence.
The investigation was turned over to a Violent Crimes Investigator from the Criminal
Investigations Bureau. Based on evidence that was obtained during the investigation, arrest
warrants were obtained against Waters.
According to the investigation, Waters took money from the victim, by use or threat of force,
while armed with a pistol.
