Clemson student wins big in the lottery

A Clemson student has won $200,000 playing the South Carolina Education Lottery.

According to a news release, the senior was waiting for a takeout order when she decided to pick up a lottery ticket..  She spent $5 on a scratch-off at the Loco Mart #4 at 480 Old Greenville Hwy. in Clemson and scratched the ticket in her car to pass the time.

“I couldn’t believe it,” she told South Carolina Education Lottery officials, describing the moment she won big.  She says her hands were still shaking when her takeout was ready.

Now the lottery win is going to pick up the tab for her tuition and books.

The winner overcame odds of 1 in 720,000 to win $200,000 in the Break the Bank game that has two more top prizes available

Loco Mart #4 in Clemson received a commission of $2,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
