Clemson student and a prestigious award

A Clemson University student from Hendersonville, Tennessee, Elizabeth Caldwell, has been named a Truman scholar.  Named for the late President Harry Truman, the Truman scholarship is given to high-achieving college students who show commitment to public service and potential to continue that service beyond graduation.  She’ll receive up to $30 thousand for graduate study, leadership training, career counseling and other opportunities within the federal government.  Caldwell plans to work in medicine and healthcare policy and focus on patients with rare diseases that involved both visible and invisible disabilities.
