Clemson grad student to give a talk in Italy

With the moon on her mind, Clemson grad student Andrealuna Pizzetti will deliver a talk this weekend in Italy where she’ll discuss what the world, society and technology would look like if the moon were destroyed or had never formed.  Pizzetti will dive deep into the questions, using the knowledge she has gained from following her passion for the stars.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Italy but went for her doctorate at Clemson after seeing a flier for the university on a bulletin board.  She then contacted Marco Ajello, an associate professor in the Clemson Department of Physics and Astronomy.  When Pizzetti was 10, she got her first astronomy book, and her mom took her to the local observatory.  When she is in Clemson, she’s part of a YouTube channel called On Planet Nine.
