Clemson back street to be talked to lessen backups

A meeting next week will renew the idea of a back road off 123/the Tiger Boulevard as a partial solution to frequent traffic backup in Clemson.  “Issues related to Potential Development of Commercial Area Access Road” is item #6 on the city planning commission agenda for the 6 o’clock Monday, January 9 meeting at city hall.  Art Holbrooks, city planner, says the idea of a back street, a way traffic bound may use to reach Tiger Boulevard businesses that front the four-lane, has been bandied about previously.  Now the thought is to revive the idea and see if there’s enough interest among Clemson’s seven planning commissioners to pursue it.  The public may now attend city of Clemson meetings in person, but COVID protocol will be in place for social distancing.
