Clarifying a West Union Council story

A story that came from this week’s West Union Town Counci meetingl this week highlighted the possibility that, in a regional wastewater study, attention might be paid to the idea of the dissolution of the current Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority.  In fact, that’s only one potential component of what the study might cover.  And 101.7/WGOG NEWS is happy to clarify that there are several other potential avenues for the study to follow—such as status quo, or doing nothing; and a revised government structure that would include consolidating some or all of individual municipal collector systems.  Chris Eleazer, JRSA executive director, referred 101.7/WGOG NEWS to a memo which he handed out during a meeting on Monday that contained a number of options that the study could consider, and WGOG is glad for the chance to stress that returning sewer operations as an arm of general county government is just one option.
