Christmas afternoon chase ends with arrest

Oconee Sheriff’s Office has brought multiple charges against a 30-year old Seneca man after a Christmas morning chase that started near Clemson and ended near his home.   Law enforcement records identify the arrested man as Demarcus Shawntez Taylor. Sheriff Crenshaw today gave the following account:  “On Christmas Day at approximately 3:16 pm deputies were dispatched to the Epoch housing community on report of suspicious person. This subject ran out of the back of a residence….and deputies pursued him. The pursuit ended on Hoyt Street in Seneca City.  Subject fled on foot and was apprehended by Seneca Police.”  According to the jail booking report, Taylor faces the following charges:  burglary first degree; petty larceny; burglary second degree; petty larceny, reckless driving, failure to stop for a blue light, giving false information, and resisting arrest.
