Child sex case announcement postponed

A statement scheduled to have been made today by the office of the U-S prosecutor in South Carolina about a continuing case of child sex trafficking which ensnared a man who had worked as a Fair-Oak Elementary school officer has been postponed.  Spokesman Derek Shoemake of the U-S Attorney’s Office said, “Our office has decided to wait until the last defendants are sentenced to issue a release….”  And because of a medical condition that has been possibly attributed to a court officer it may be a few weeks before the prosecutors issue the statement.  Earlier this week a judge placed John Towery, the former Fair-Oak school resource officer, on probation, with the stipulation that he might have to pay fines and restitution for the crime of having sex with a young girl.  The entire case involves other defendants whose cases have yet to be fully processed.
