Chemical odor displaces family

Five people were removed from a home in the Eastanollee Community of Stephens County, Georgia after the smell of a strong, pungent odor.  Deputies last weekend found unresponsive people including a mother, a father, a son, and a daughter.  Emergency workers traced the origin to chemical agents for pest control.  Toccoa Radio WNEG quoted Sheriff Shirley as saying the chemical agents were Boric acid and Deltamethrin.  They were accidentally combined and, over time, created a toxic gas.  The fire department has ventilated the house.
