Charges filed in sex crime case

A Seneca man remained jail yesterday, at the Oconee
County Detention Center, after his arrest on charges related to a Criminal Sexual
Conduct with a Minor investigation.
27 year old James Arthur Davis, Jr., of Overbrook Drive, was given a combined $203,000 dollar
surety bond during a bond hearing. According to the sheriff’s office, Davis has been charged with 10 counts of Disseminating
Obscene Material to Minors, two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor – Second
Degree and one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
The investigation that led to the charges against Davis, Jr. came about as a result of a separate
and unrelated investigation which involved the victim in the Criminal Sexual Conduct with a
Minor investigation.
According to the sheriff’s office, an investigator gathered evidence that showed that Davis, Jr. had sent to the victim, a teenager, obscene
material.
The investigator believes Davis had sex with the teenager and that  he also supplied the teenager with
Marijuana.
