Heavy rain pelted WGOG land starting the 10 o’clock hour and bringing down trees in the Cleveland-Madison communities in western Oconee County.

An electrical fire to the side of a Lake Keowee home was reported at 1:14 this morning in the Wyneward Pointe subdivision.  Receiving the call to Northwind Court was the Keowee Fire Department.  No injuries reported.  The fire is believed to have originated at a meter box.

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Carolina have once again surpassed 1,000 for a 24-hour period. DHEC Saturday announced 1,250 new confirmed cases and 42 additional confirmed deaths.  This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 115,661 and 2.653 confirmed deaths.
