New principal tonight!

At their meeting tonight, look for Oconee school trustees to select a new principal for Seneca’s Blue Ridge Elementary School. That is the expectation of Dr. Michael Thorsland, interim county superintendent, as late as this afternoon. The district received about 20 applications for the principal’s job at Walhalla High School. However, Thorsland says no one has yet to be interviewed.

A judge has thrown out a lawsuit by a former Pickens County teacher that accused public school districts in two counties and some of their top officials. A late night house fire in Utica near Seneca has led to the arrest of a 38-year old man on the charge of attempted murder.
