Oconee’s loss is Greenville’s gain

The six-year agent-in-charge of the Oconee State Probation and Parole Office has accepted a transfer to Greenville. For Greg Stewart, it’s going to mean supervising a caseload six times more than Oconee’s. Stewart has worked in Oconee six years. He says it has been a pleasure to serve Oconee County. He says Oconeeans have been a joy to work with.

New principal tonight!

At their meeting tonight, look for Oconee school trustees to select a new principal for Seneca’s Blue Ridge Elementary School. That is the expectation of Dr. Michael Thorsland, interim county superintendent, as late as this afternoon. The district received about 20 applications for the principal’s job at Walhalla High School. However, Thorsland says no one has yet to be interviewed.

Judge tosses former Pickens teacher’s suit

A judge has thrown out a lawsuit by a former Pickens County teacher that accused public school districts in two counties and some of their top officials.
