DOT crews worked yesterday to restore traffic signals at U-S 123 and South Carolina 93 near Clemson. A spokesman for the Oconee Sheriff’s Office said officers were investigating the circumstances of an accident, in which a car hit the traffic control box for that highway juncture.

The victim in Saturday night’s pedestrian and vehicle accident in Oakway was Sandra Faye Dickson. A Sunday evening motorcycle accident near Seneca proved fatal to its operator—a 38-year old man. Coroner Karl Addis said the victim, Martinze Oneal Buchanan, went into cardiac arrest and died in the emergency room at the hospital an hour later. In three ceremonies today, Clemson University graduates 3,200 students. In the first ceremony this morning, first-year President James Clements challenged graduates and everyone else to make a difference. The morning ceremony included the colleges of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Science, with 561 students receiving degrees; and Engineering and Science, with 900.
