The Oconee County office of Probate Judge finished 2015, having issued 640 marriage licenses during those 12 months.  According to Judge Kenny Johns, the permits issued brought in revenue to the office amounting to $12,465.      

After 28 years with West Union, Cecelia Atkins will retire as the town’s clerk-treasurer.  At its meeting tomorrow, the town council is to act on Atkins’ retirement request and discuss what’s next.  She plans to retire March 1.  West Union Town Council tomorrow also receives a report from its external auditor and will discuss the appointment of a planning commission.
