One person suffered burns to the arms and legs in a Christmas night garage fire.  Charlie King, Oconee Fire Chief, said the injured person suffered those burns while trying to put out the fire on Fernwood Drive near Davis Mill Road.

Weather permitting, crews will be back on the job at Walhalla Streetscape on Monday.  The contractor’s plan is to start the last block demolition—on the south side of Main Street between Ann and Spring.  While work is idle over Christmas and the weekend, Hutch ‘N Son will monitor the condition of the streets and the traffic devices.

Normally closed on Wednesdays, all Oconee County recycling centers will do business tomorrow—starting at 7 o’clock in the morning until 7 PM.  Hours for the recycling centers on Thursday, Christmas Eve, will be 7 a-m to 3 p-m.  After 3 Thursday afternoon, those facilities will be closed until Monday.
