Members of Walhalla’s St. Luke United Methodist Church quote a police officer as saying a bicyclist in an early night accident last night was very lucky.  No severe injuries were reported.  That accident occurred in the vicinity of the church during the rainstorm.  Authorities say medical help responded, but no one was transported from the scene.

The Oconee Board of Zoning Appeals will welcome comment tonight on a request to put up a new cell tower in the Tamassee community.  The hearing centers on a special exception request to build a 225′, self-supported tower at 226 Whitmire Church Road.  Tonight’s 6 o’clock public hearing takes place in County Council Chambers in Walhalla.
