Old school buses to be replaced

Returning from the state General Assembly last week, Senator Thomas Alexander said the Senate cast a unanimous vote to override Governor McMaster’s veto of funds to buy new school buses.  And that, the Oconee-Pickens Republican says, will create a cycle from one year to the next to allow the state to replace aging buses, parts for which are difficult to find. The overall concern is to remove from the roads those buses which have the potential to catch fire.  “We’ve had several (bus fires) right here in South Carolina, one earlier this year,” Alexander told 101.7/WGOG NEWS.
