A home fire this morning south of Seneca in the Crossroads Community. A fire service source says heavy smoke was reported thru the roof at a home on Cedar Lane Road near highway 24. Fire fighters required the medical help of EMS to provide on-scene fire rehab.

A former Oconee County banker, Glenn Buddin has entered the political world in Anderson County. Buddin says he’s one of three Republican candidates for Seat Four, Anderson County Council.  The others running are Brett Sanders and Frank Pressley.  The three are competing for a seat to be vacated on the retirement of Tom Allen.

In the month of March, Oconee County recorded lower unemployment rates than did South Carolina and the rest of the country. Joblessness among county residents dropped to 4%, from February’s 4.5%. An Oconee Sheriff’s Office investigation led to the arrest Wednesday of a Pendleton man, 28-year old Marcus Allen Greenlee, accused of stealing the woman’s clothes and cell phone.
