Clemson resident Serita Acker has been elected to the board of directors of Girl Scouts of South Carolina. Acker is one of six new board members who will serve a 22-county jurisdiction. She is the PEER/WISE Director for Clemson University.

What were Greenville Health and Palmetto Health are now Prisma Health. The new name is effective today—meaning, for example, that the official name of the Oconee hospital is now Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital. A spokeswoman says campuses and hospitals retain their core name identities, though it will take a year or longer to change the signs and printed materials.

Duke Energy met its annual tax obligation to Oconee County by sending its 2018 property tax payment to the office of the county treasurer. Connie Bellotte, the deputy treasurer, says the payment totals $33,472,064.49. The office of Treasurer Greg Nowell is working on a breakdown of how that money is to be divided among the schools and the county government.

Today’s boil water advisories are affecting all Oconee public schools in both the Westminster and Oakway areas, although classes are not being dismissed early.
