Boil water advisories impact public schools

Today’s boil water advisories are affecting all Oconee public schools in both the Westminster and Oakway areas, although classes are not being dismissed early. Steve Hanvey, associate superintendent, says the kitchens in the schools are boiling all water for cooking purposes and the school district is transporting bottled water for students, teachers, and staff. Water fountains in the schools have been temporarily disabled while the advisories continue.
