Democratic and Republican voters make their way to the polls today–a day when the scorching heat creates health risks.  Oconee County polling places are open today from 7 am to 7 pm.  Good advice includes wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothes and, when possible, stay out of the sun.  Drink plenty of fluids.

Vacant house fire

Near Seneca, a vacant house burns by a midnight hour fire.  The first fire-fighter was timed to have reached the scene eight minutes, after the 12:45 am alert to Keowee Trail.  That fire fighter, and those who joined them, remained on scene nearly three hours.
