Carol Burdette’s advice to Tech’s grads

Carol Burdette can identify with a number of this spring’s graduates at Tri-County Technical College.  The former Pendleton mayor and retiring CEO of the Anderson United Way, Burdette gave the graduation address May 3 to 373 Tech graduates.  In that Littlejohn Coliseum ceremony, this year’s graduates were awarded degrees, diplomas and certificates.  She told them:  “Some of you are first-generation college students like I was.”  Burdette had this advice for going forward: find ways to serve, give, accomplish and show kindness.”
