By petition, two candidates must qualify

To gain spots on this November’s ballot, two Oconeeans will be required to gather signatures by petition.  One of them has already done that.  Bob Winchester seeks re-election in the General Election as one of five members of the county board of soil and water conservation.  Here’s a clarification:  A second incumbent board member, Carol Hendrix, is available to accept a second term provided she receives the proper number of write-in votes on November 8.  In comments to air on 101.7/WGOG NEWS, Winchester explains why it’s important to devote interest in a non-paid position to the soil and water issues affecting Oconee County.
