Burglary defendant ready for trial

General Sessions Judge Scott Sprouse began qualifying the jury this morning for the start of an Oconee Courthouse trial.  Arrested by the sheriff’s office in April last year, William David Gunn faces the following charges burglary first degree, resisting arrest, malicious injury to property, and possession of tools capable of being used in a crime.  From the pool of jurors, the prosecutor and the defense attorney are to select the panel of 12 trial jurors.  Opening arguments in the case are expected to start at 1:30 this afternoon.
