Brock addresses $25M commitment to Sewer South II

Amanda Brock, Oconee County administrator, shined light today on what the county has in mind for $25M for sewer work and other capital projects.  Responding this morning to a question by Kevin Bronson, Westminster member of the board of the Joint Regional Sewer Authority, Brock spelled out some possibilities of attracting industry and other development on Oconee’s I-85 corridor.  For decades, Oconee officials have sought to help convert the 4-miles along the interstate suitable to development.  A recently approved $25 million allocation, Brock explained, is envisioned by the county council to bring sewer pipe to the interstate, without which chances for economic development there appear hopeless.
