Bonds set for attempted murder defendants

Defendants in two separate attempted murder cases in Oconee County are getting the opportunity for release from jail, pending their trial dates.  Judge Cordell Maddox issued rulings yesterday afternoon in the Oconee General Sessions Court.  In the case of Tyler Benjamin Robinson, family members were told that they may choose a 10% cash option of his $35 thousand dollar bond.  However, there are conditions.  Maddox ordered Robinson must be placed on GPS satellite monitoring.  The judge told the defendant’s mother that her son is restricted to their home, except for school, work, church and doctor and lawyer appointments.  According to prosecutor Jason Alderman, 18-year old Robinson is one of four co-defendants who are accused of deliberately following a car from a convenience store and firing a gun that wounded a passenger in the pursued vehicle.  In a second bond-setting yesterday, Judge Maddox set a $75 thousand bond – with 10% cash option – for Matthew Dillard Fowler, charged with attempted murder of a person with whom he rode in the same car.  Fowler’s grandfather told the judge he was prepared to care for his grandson, pending a trial date.
