Bond for murder defendant again denied, but trial timetable ordered

A young jail inmate has been confined, says his lawyer, 675 days awaiting trial for murder and other charges from two years ago in Westminster.  And defense attorney Josh Kendrick unsuccessfully appealed to a judge today that his client, Charles Stephon Trapp Jr. for bond to be set with conditions.  But the prosecution objected and cited the severity of the case in which Trapp, 19 years old at the time, fired a gun into an occupied car, killing a female passenger and wounding a second person in the face.  Defense lawyer Kendrick suggested a $100 thousand surety bond with conditions including house arrest and monitoring.  Judge Sprouse rejected the defense motions but directed the prosecutor’s office to call Trapp’s case for trial before the end of the year.
